We are a boutique law firm specializing in maritime and commercial law with experience of over 30 years. Our extensive clientele includes Indian and foreign shipowners and charterers, IG P & I Clubs, Fixed Premium Insurers, foreign law firms, cargo owners and their insurers. We are the legal correspondents for Steamship Mutual. Our continuous aim is to provide quality service to our clients by recognizing their needs and responding promptly through a knowledgeable and highly responsive team. We have a presence across all major cities and ports in India.

OUR FOUNDER

Adil Patel founded Adil Patel and Associates, in April 2023. Prior to this, he was a partner with the internationally recognized maritime law firm, Bhatt & Saldanha, for 27 years, until its dissolution. With over 30 years of post-qualification experience, Adil is highly regarded as a leading maritime law practitioner in India. He has successfully attended to some of the most high-profile shipping casualties in Indian waters. He has diverse experience in dry and wet shipping, crew claims, and disbursement of death/disability compensation. Adil has assisted our overseas clients in successfully enforcing foreign judgments, arbitration awards and obtaining security in pending foreign arbitrations. His assistance is regularly sought by foreign law firms as an expert witness on Indian law.

Adil is a solicitor admitted with the Bombay Incorporated Law Society and is also qualified as a solicitor with the Law Society (England and Wales) (non-practising).
